Some women entrepreneurs undertook activities which were hitherto considered to be non-feminine.
The findings revealed that informal sector operators has a positive and significant impact on growth in Nigeria; while poverty-mentality, illiteracy, high inflation, low infrastructure, access to credit, social safety nets and information dissemination are the major problems encountered by these institutions.
The study found that savings can be mobilized from the urban poor if the formal institutions can approach them in a more responsive way with effective techniques.
The major conclusion is that macroeconomic shocks (namely, inflation and investment growth shocks) have considerable impact on credit risk in retail loan segment of Russian credit market, but do no significant impact on the corporate loan sector.
